Finally got around to reading ‘Call Me By Your Name’ by André Aciman and I was NOT disappointed!! After watching the film multiple times, I was intrigued to read the beautiful story it was based off.
The book itself was a lovely and very easy read, not only because I knew the story already but also because the writing was beyond compare. You best believe this book has been thoroughly highlighted with the amount of beautiful quotes and breathtaking language which was used throughout. I especially fell in love with the setting of the novel, even if I hadn’t watched the film the author’s descriptions were incredible and instantly brought both the characters and their surroundings off the page, as if I was watching the story unfold on screen all over again.
Plot wise I don’t want to give anything away, but I would recommend doing a little bit of research on the basic idea but not too much so that you spoil the story. The author explores many different themes throughout his writing including coming of age, sexuality, intimacy, friendship, all consuming love and religion.
This novel is a work of art, which I strongly encourage everyone to add to their TBR!!📚
